Eligibility Quiz

  1. Are you at least 18 years old?
  2. Do you live or work in Guilford County?
  3. Do you want to improve your reading, writing and English language skills or get your GED®?
  4. Can you meet at least once a week for 2–4 hours?
  5. Do you like working with other people?

Here's what you do next!

  1. Call Reading Connections at 336-230-2223 in Greensboro or 336-884-7323 in High Point.

  2. Make an appointment for an orientation to learn about Reading Connections.  We are located in the Self-Help Building in downtown Greensboro, 122 N. Elm Street (at the corner of N. Elm and Friendly Avenue) suite 920.  You will want to enter the building from the Friendly Avenue entrance and take the elevator to the 9th floor.  
    In High Point we are located at the High Point Library at 901 N. Main Street on the 2nd floor.

  3. Come to your appointment to meet the friendly Reading Connections staff, talk about your goals, fill out a couple of forms and take a quiz that will help us help you get started.

  4. Take a tour of the Reading Connections office. You can look at all of the books and computers that you can use to become a better reader. 

  5. Get started!  While you wait to join a class or match with a tutor, we have specialty classes and computer lab activities to help you get started learning.
