Position Title: Volunteer Childcare Assistant for Career Training Classes- Greensboro
Purpose: Assist an experienced pre-K instructor in caring for a group of young children (0-4 years) while their parents participate in free job and career training classes. As the parents study in a nearby classroom, the children will be developing their social and literacy skills. Your role will enable parents to attend classes that will prepare them for work in a family sustaining career.
Greensboro classes will take place at Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:00 am – Noon.
Responsibilities:
Commit to assisting with childcare for three hours on the same day each week. Childcare Assistants are welcome to volunteer for more than one day each week.
Read and play games with children.
Inform parents in an adjacent classroom when their child’s diapers need to be changed.
Time Commitment: September 6 – December 20.
Qualifications:
Welcoming to adult students and children
Curious about languages and cultures
Willing to undergo a background check
Enthusiastic about reading, singing and playing games with young children
Patient with babies and young children
