Fall 2024 Programs
GREENSBORO
ADVANCED MANUFACTURING – Starting September 6 In GREENSBORO. This program for native English speakers will feature classroom study of Advanced Manufacturing, hands-on training at Forge Greensboro, forklift training and certification at GTCC, soft skills training, and manufacturing company site visits! This program will be Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00 am – noon (and one weekend of forklift training). We will be providing childcare for all classroom days. ENGLISH FOR PERSONAL CARE ASSISTANT – Starting September 16 In GREENSBORO. This ESOL program will provide students with English language learning while studying a career in Personal Case Assisting. Students will have an opportunity for hands-on training with our partner Coleman Care Services. This program will be Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 9:00 am – noon. ENGLISH FOR FOOD SERVICE AND PREPARATION – Starting October 7 In GREENSBORO. In this ESOL course, intermediate and advanced English language learners will have the opportunity to work on their language skills during training in the teaching kitchen at the Muirs Chapel United Methodist Church. Students will have an opportunity to earn a ServSafe Certification! Classes will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9:00 am – noon. Childcare is available for all classroom days. SHE BUILT THIS CITY – ESOL – Starting September 14 In GREENSBORO. This 10-week “Tour of the Trades” program offers women the chance to explore electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, and more. Alongside hands-on experience, we provide related instruction in English language learning, construction math, and essential soft skills. Upon completion, women are assisted in securing construction-related employment or paid apprenticeships in the field of their interest. HIGH POINT
ADVANCED MANUFACTURING – Starting September 20 In HIGH POINT. This program for native English speakers will feature classroom study of Advanced Manufacturing at the High Point Library, hands-on training provided by Forge Greensboro at Cohab Space, forklift training and certification at GTCC, soft skills training, and manufacturing company site visits! This program will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00 am – noon (and one weekend of forklift training). We will be providing childcare for all classroom days.
